About this role

MultiLit’s publications, professional development and Literacy Centres are continually informed by an ongoing program of research. The research team is led by Emeritus Professor Kevin Wheldall AM. For more than 25 years, we have provided assistance to thousands of students in a variety of settings, including schools, our own Literacy Centres and community-based literacy projects across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. MultiLit has offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

The newly established MultiLit Academy will provide high quality postgraduate training in effective instruction, with a particular focus on evidence-based literacy teaching and behaviour management. We are seeking a full-time Level B lecturer for a teaching and research position.

The successful applicant will contribute to curriculum development and teaching of units provided by the Academy and the research program of the MultiLit Research Unit. Applicants will be expected to have a PhD in a relevant area and a strong background in evidence-based literacy instruction and effective instruction.

Salary Package: A competitive package will be offered. Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing.
Location: The position can be based in any MultiLit centre and remote work is negotiable.

Essential Criteria

  • Completion of a PhD in literacy, language and/or effective instruction.
  • Evidence of refereed research publications.
  • At least three years postdoctoral experience.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of accredited and non-accredited education courses targeted at teaching and related profession.
  • A strong background in evidence-based literacy instruction.
  • Highly developed understanding of principles of effective instruction and related research.
