The book is a collaboration between Aboriginal storyteller Uncle Carl McGrady, MultiLit’s Anna Notley, Western Sydney University, and the children of Boggabilla Central School, a MultiLit Closing the Gap partnership school. Inspired by an event held in connection with the university’s Painted River Project, the story reflects the students’ experiences and learnings from their excursion along the Macintyre River. Illustrated by Gomeroi artist Elenore Binge, the book aims to preserve and share cultural stories with future generations.
