Dr Gabrielle Brawn

Executive Manager, MultiLit Research Unit, BSc-Psych (Hons) DPsy (ClinNeuro) MSpEd

Gabrielle first worked for MultiLit from 2004 to 2007 as a casual Research Officer in the early days of the MultiLit Research Unit, working out of the Macquarie University Special Education Centre (MUSEC).

Since then, Gabrielle worked for 13 years as a paediatric clinical neuropsychologist at Sydney Children’s Hospital (SCH). She worked across the Learning Difficulties Assessment Clinic, with children experiencing difficulties with reading, writing, numeracy and/or attention problems and also provided neuropsychology assessment for children seen through the Rehabilitation department. Gabrielle provided supervision to trainee neuropsychologists and delivered training sessions and guest lectures at Macquarie University, the University of NSW and Charles Sturt University. She regularly presented to teachers about the cognitive impacts of brain injury on students learning at the annual Brain Injury Teacher Education Day.

While working as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Gabrielle completed a Master of Special Education degree at Macquarie University to extend her knowledge regarding evidence-based interventions and supports for children who experience learning difficulties. While working at SCH, she undertook a research collaboration with MultiLit to instigate the PreLit program in a local Aboriginal community preschool to promote development of early literacy skills for children in preparation for commencing school.
