Emeritus Professor Kevin Wheldall AM is a Founding Director of MultiLit, Chairman of MultiLit Pty Ltd, and the Founding Director of the MultiLit Research Unit (MRU). He continues as an Emeritus Professor of Macquarie University.
Having spent over 50 years researching and writing in educational psychology and special education, Kevin is recognised internationally as a leading authority in reading assessment and instruction and in classroom behaviour management. Director of Macquarie University Special Education Centre (MUSEC) for over 20 years, he is now an Emeritus Professor of Macquarie University and Chairman of MultiLit Pty Ltd.
Kevin is the author of around 400 academic books, chapters, and journal articles. His academic standing is recognised by his Fellowship of the prestigious Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, the British Psychological Society, the College of Preceptors, the College of Educational and Child Psychologists of the Australian Psychological Society, and the International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities. Kevin has has extensive experience editing academic journals, including Educational Psychology, which he co-founded. He is currently the co-editor of Nomanis.
In 2011 he was made a Member (AM) in the Order of Australia for his services to education. For many years, he has consulted to government and other agencies at both federal and state levels.
In 2023, he was the recipient of the Eminent Researcher Award of the Australian Journal of Learning Difficulties and was made a life member of Learning Difficulties Australia.
In 2024, Kevin was ranked 34th in the field of special education globally by Scholar GPS and in the top 0.5 per cent of scholars worldwide.
