Dr Robyn Wheldall

Robyn Wheldall (formerly Beaman) has expertise in researching reading interventions and has worked in the areas of learning difficulties, special education, behaviour management, literacy instruction and interventions for struggling readers for more than 30 years. She was the Research and Development Manager at Macquarie University Special Education Centre (MUSEC) during the formative years of MultiLit, and is a founding director of MultiLit Pty Ltd. Serving as Deputy Director of the MRU since its inception in 2006, Robyn took on the role of Director in 2024. She has numerous research publications and extensive project management experience in establishing intensive literacy interventions in school, clinical and community settings.
Robyn is currently Vice-President of Learning Difficulties Australia (LDA), is a founding director of the Institute of Special Educators (InSpEd), is the Chair of the Industry Advisory Board of the Graduate School of Health at UTS, a University Associate of Curtin University, is the co-editor of Nomanis and is an Honorary Research Fellow of Macquarie University, from whom she has received a Community Outreach Award for her MultiLit work.
In 2024, Robyn was appointed as Literacy Expert to the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) Educational Excellence Standing Committee (EESC) and to the NCEC’s Literacy Advisory Group.
