Teachers need evidence-based training if they are to be effective in the classroom
In Dr Mark Carter’s OpEd published in Education HQ on 5 June 2024, he discusses the need for schools and teachers to be equipped to meet their students’ challenges.
With significant gaps identified between existing Initial Teacher Education programs and the skills and knowledge required to be an effective teacher, he introduces The Academy for the Science of Instruction which will provide courses in effective, evidence-based teaching to upskill already qualified teachers.
