With a make-believe imaginative theme, Maggie Goes to the Museum provides excellent consolidation of narrative story structure.
The book has a special focus on an interesting setting of a natural history museum, providing an opportunity to link to history and science discussions. It has more sophisticated vocabulary (e.g. brachiosaurus, moonstone) and figurative language to explore (e.g., crystals as dark as inky night). Less explicit text provides opportunities to work on inferencing skills.
