Case Study: St Mary’s College, Seymour, Victoria

After a Phonics Screening Check in 2020, St Mary’s College Seymour adopted InitiaLit for its whole-class literacy instruction in 2021. This decision has led to encouraging improvements year on year, and by 2024, 80% of Year 3 students were in the top two proficiency bands in NAPLAN.

Case Study: Kaurna Plains School, South Australia

The vast majority of the students enrolled at Kaurna Plains School identify as Aboriginal. After joining MultiLit’s Closing the Gap Initiative in 2021, the school has implemented a Response to Intervention (RtI) framework made up of InitiaLit and various MultiLit small group intervention programs. Case Study: RTP in MultiLit Literacy Centres

MultiLit conducted research into the efficacy of the Reading Tutor Program in its Literacy Centres by testing student outcomes in its Macquarie Park and Bella Vista locations. Children’s test results in word reading, spelling, phonological decoding, passage reading accuracy, comprehension, and fluency were compared over a 6-month period.
