A professional development workshop delivered via eight self-paced 30-minute eLearning modules. The modules cover the structure, practical implementation and delivery of the Reading Tutor Program, a one-to-one reading program for struggling readers from Year 2 to adulthood. This program is suited to:
- Year 2 to post-formal schooling, adults and EAL/D
- One-to-one program
The eight modules are:
- Course Introduction
- Unpack the Kit
- Word Attack Skills Introduction
- Word Attack Skills Accuracy
- Word Attack Skills Fluency
- Sight Words Introduction
- Sight Words Daily Session
- Reinforced Reading
The modules provide practitioners with a thorough understanding of the concepts and methods used in the Reading Tutor Program, video demonstrations and practical activities to apply and consolidate knowledge of the key features of the program. Designed for teachers, learning support teachers, teacher aides and special educators who may live in regional or remote areas or who wish to complete the training in their own time. Access to content is provided for four weeks.
This training is also available as a one day face-to-face workshop.
