A handbook containing assessment instructions, an assessment schedule overview, and the Screener and Cumulative Review assessment materials for the InitiaLit–1 program (Cumulative Review assessments are to be undertaken when indicated in the whole-class lesson script).
These curriculum-based assessments (along with regular Progress Monitoring assessments using the InitiaLit–1 Sounds and Words Books) will help teachers identify when the class as a whole may need to repeat a lesson, or when a smaller group of children may need extra support before moving on.
Teachers should use this book in conjunction with the downloadable resources provided in the Members’ Area of the MultiLit website: the Student Recording Forms and Spelling Forms, and the Class Record (Excel spreadsheet) that will automatically flag children who are struggling.
