A book containing assessment instructions and all sounds, words and sentences to be presented to children for individual student reading and spelling assessments throughout the year when using the InitiaLit–Foundation program.
These assessments include an initial Screener to determine children’s letter and sound knowledge at the start of the year, as well as all regular Progress Monitoring assessments and Cumulative Reviews (to be undertaken when indicated in the whole-class lesson script).
These curriculum-based assessments will help teachers identify when the class as a whole may need to repeat a lesson, or when a smaller group of children may need extra support before moving on.
Teachers should use this book in conjunction with the downloadable resources provided in the Members’ Area of the MultiLit website: the Student Record Forms and Spelling Forms, and the Excel spreadsheet class record that will automatically flag children who are struggling.
