InitiaLit Readers Levels 10-16, The Wattle Series (Classroom set)

$1,840

Six copies of a full set of 60 InitiaLit Readers Levels 10-16 Series 2, The Wattle Series (360 books), for use during small group reading during the second year of school (Year 1) alongside the InitiaLit–1 program or MiniLit Sage. They can also be used by any school wishing to provide decodable readers to support an evidence-based synthetic phonics approach to teaching reading.

These Readers are carefully scaffolded for children to practise their developing reading skills. Levels 10-16 follow an advanced phonic sequence and providing exposure to both fiction and non-fiction text types. The books gradually increase in length, moving children towards reading books with short sections or chapters with confidence. This classroom set contains one copy of each title in Levels 10-16 Series 2, The Wattle Series, targeting the following sounds: Level 10 (Foundation review), Level 11 (ai/ay, ee/ea, oa/ow, igh/y, ew/ue), Level 12 (ar, or/ore, er/ir/ur, ear/eer, air/are), Level 13 (split digraph), Level 14 (ou/ow, au/aw, oi/oy), Level 15 (vowel digraph review and tch/dge), Level 16 (Year 1 review). The InitiaLit Readers Levels 10-16 are aligned to the InitiaLit–1 phonic sequence and should be purchased by schools using the InitiaLit–1 program, as well as MiniLit Sage, and can also be used alongside other synthetic phonics programs. Classroom sets (six copies of each title), bundle sets for each level (10-16) or individual titles can also be purchased by parents wishing to support their child’s reading, or by any school wishing to provide decodable readers to support an evidence-based synthetic phonics approach to teaching reading. Each title includes instructions and pre- and post-reading activities to help teachers and parents use the books effectively. In addition, the last Reader in each level is a Shared Reader, allowing an adult to help consolidate all the skills targeted at that level by reading together with a child.
