The WARP (Wheldall Assessment of Reading Passages) is a simple measure of reading performance for older readers (Years 2 to 5, including low progress readers up to Year 9). Using the 200-word passages provided, teachers can assess a student’s level of oral reading fluency and compare this to benchmarks in just a few minutes.

The WARP (Wheldall Assessment of Reading Passages) is a simple measure of reading performance for older readers (Years 2 to 5, including low progress readers up to Year 9). Using the 200-word passages provided, teachers can assess a student’s level of oral reading fluency and compare this to benchmarks in just a few minutes. No qualifications in test administration are required. The Kit comes with a Manual, Presentation Booklet, 30 Initial Assessment Record Forms, and 15 Progress Monitoring Record Forms (additional packs can be purchased). The WARP can be used by classroom teachers, learning support teachers or other school personnel involved in literacy instruction. Customers are also given access to downloadable charting tools, specifically designed for tracking students’ progress.
